Get answers to common questions about CoolSculpting®.
CoolSculpting® uses controlled freezing (cryolipolysis) to damage fat cells beneath the skin. Over weeks the body naturally processes and eliminates the frozen cells, reducing fat volume in the treated area without surgery or general anesthesia.
Ideal candidates are at or near their target weight with localized, pinchable fat deposits. CoolSculpting® isn't for significant weight loss. A consultation at Medspa California determines suitability, discusses goals, and designs a personalized treatment plan.
Most clients see noticeable improvement after one treatment per area, while optimal results often require two to three sessions spaced weeks apart. The number depends on the targeted area, the amount of fat, and your desired contouring.
CoolSculpting® treats common problem zones including abdomen, flanks (love handles), inner and outer thighs, bra fat, back, arms, and under the chin. Our clinicians will recommend applicators and protocol tailored to each area for best outcomes.
Treated fat cells are eliminated permanently, but remaining fat cells can enlarge if you gain weight. Full results typically develop within two to four months as the body clears the dead cells and refines contours.
Most clients feel intense cold, tugging, and mild pinching during the first minutes, followed by numbness. Post-treatment sensations include temporary redness, bruising, swelling, or tenderness. Discomfort is short-lived and normal; most resume regular activities immediately.
